    Great article. I switched my personal router, as well as my parents to OpenDNS, not for the security benefits, but for the performance. Most residential ISPs have awful DNS response times, especially cable modem service here in in NYC during peak hours of the day. OpenDNS is way faster, and even some friends who come over see the OpenDNS page when they come over and ask how they can do it too.

    Making the changes on the router makes every machine protected instantly — a huge plus. But also, since nobody else in the family messes with router settings, it never gets removed.
